Fed UP!

Just a note to let you know I'm alive, although with less hair. Back in December I bought a new Dish Network PVR, Personal Video Recorder model 508. It would be great IF it worked. Today the tech brought the forth replacement and fiddled with the cables for an hour or so and... It still doesn't work! I am now convinced that their design is defective and I'm giving up on the whole thing. I'm just weary dealing with the morons they hire for customer support. Call them and describe the problem to convince the idiot who answered that he is incapable of solving the problem who then transfers me to the next fool up the line. Repeat the whole thing. This takes three tries before someone with an IQ in double digits and something gets done. It doesn't work but they mark it down as a success. I bother you with all this in case you are tempted to get one of these things. DON'T. There, see, I just saved you a lot of hassle and I feel a bit better. Hmmm, maybe if I wrap some tinfoil on the cable it will work, or perhaps it would be better if I made a tinfoil hat and wore that while I watched TV. BTW the tech guy said if this didn't work I might be tempted to throw it in the lake. He's behind the times, I've been considering that for months. Tomorrow, between work I'm going to kill an hour on the phone with the above named idiots getting them to take it back and then I get to start all over again with DirectTV. Maybe I'll just get a library card instead.

So, what does this have to do with Preble? In Preble we have Time/Warner cable IF you don't live where I live. I would ask our town board to prevail on the cable company to serve those of us who are in the dark but I know a lost cause when I see it. Perhaps if one of us who live without cable got elected to the town board this would change. Something to think about because there are a lot of voters in my situation, and we are mad!
