Good afternoon
Another beautiful sunny day on Song Lake in Preble. This must be a record, 5 days in a row of nice weather. My grass is getting ready to be mowed so I guess I can safely take the snow blower off the tractor. Don't want to rush these things because I've noticed how patient the grass is. It will wait and wait for me to mow it, it just keeps growing, how considerate of it. I used to fertilize it to make it look really green. Some years ago my friend Greg asked me why I was doing that and I couldn't come up with a good answer so I stopped. The green is not as green as when it is fertilized but I just got used to it. A lot of little things used to bug me until my nephew Rich came up with the answer. He just advised me "Not to care" about those things. It might well be the best advise I've ever gotten, sure saves a lot of work and grief. If something bugs you all you have to do is learn... "Not to care" and poof the problem goes away.
Somebody else's problem
I'm a big fan of Douglas Adams who wrote a series of SciFi books some years ago. In one of them he talked about how the people of the future learned the secret of invisibility. All you needed to do to become invisible was become Somebody else's problem and you are invisible. If the previous advise doesn't work then just think of things as somebody else's problem.
To sum it up: Learn not to care about things you can't do anything about without a lot of work and ignore things that are somebody else's problem. The secret to a happy life.
