Nitrate fed welfare whores

Pardon me while I vent my anger and frustration about what is happening, or not happening, with the 'nitrate problem' in Preble.

There isn't anyone in County government who will do anything about this problem. Why? You ask? Because if you lined them all up against the wall you would have to use a microscope to find any balls in the bunch. They are all afraid of losing their jobs, afraid of losing their promotion. After all they meet in the GRANGE for crying out loud. The head of the stupidly called "Water Protection Committee" is a farmer and just about everyone on that committee is a farmer or controlled by farmers or employed by farmers. They, all of them know how to fix this problem. Their buddies, the farmers, would have to stop polluting the land, air and water with manure and they know that won't happen.

You know I used to think that farmers were the salt of the earth, the true purists who worked the land with their bare hands to provide food for the world. My Uncle Tim was like that, a farmer that I used to spend summers with on his farm. He worked hard, he was poor but he and my Aunt Adelaide raised 5 children who grew up to be good people. He wasn't on welfare like farmers today. He didn't get a huge tax break on his land, he didn't get money from you and me not to grow food. He didn't get million dollar grants not to do something with his land he wasn't going to do anyway. He worked for every cent he had and I was proud of him for that. But these farmers today who live off the government, who don't pay taxes their neighbors have to make up, who get all kinds of government subsidies. These guys are not the salt of the earth of old. These guys are leeches who don't earn what they have, who take money from the government as if it was owed them. They truly are the welfare whores of today and they have nothing to be proud of.

But the saddest thing is that nothing will stop them. They will continue to pollute the land, air and water, they will continue to take free money from the government and they will continue to destroy Preble and points south. They will do this because no one has what it takes to stop them. Everyone in Cortland, who is in a position to do so, is a coward, afraid for their job, afraid just because they were hired to be afraid. And it's not just the town or county level, hell it's not even the state level. It goes to the top with my guy Bush, who I voted for and will again, signing the biggest welfare farm bill ever in the hope of getting reelected. All of the pols do this. They give our money to the special interests and the special interests give our money back to them to run for office.

And in Preble the poorest of the poor drink contaminated water, smell putrefied air and walk on tainted land.

And nobody does nothing and nobody ever will and the cycle goes on, down and down we go into the pits of hell. Or in this case the manure drenched fields of Preble.
