Android vs. IPhone Is No Easy Call - PCWorld:
Google’s Android mobile operating system proved a formidable rival to the wildly popular iPhone in a recent real-world test. …
Android 2.2 still lags behind Apple’s iOS 4.1 at the moment. But treating either as a stagnant entity is a mistake. Both will continue to improve over time and making a decision on which one to get will continue to be a challenge. I recently made some HD videos with the iPhone 4 and posted them to my YouTube page. They aren’t all that great but that’s more me than the phone. However, yesterday Apple released iOS 4.1 which added HDR photo capability which makes for much better pictures. It is amazing how well it works. The iPhone 4 is now my camera of choice because of that feature. So, the bar keeps moving and each company will continue to improve their product and we will be the winners. I’m happy with my choice but I’ll look again at the competition when my contract comes due in two years.

Tri-C students recruited to fill the seats for Obama’s appearance | cleveland.com:
PARMA, Ohio – With less than an hour before President Obama’s scheduled speech, 75 seats remained empty in the recreation center at Cuyahoga Community College’s Western Campus.
So organizers went around campus and recruited more students to fill the seats.
Student Jennifer Rahal, of Parma Heights, whose class was canceled today, was working on her art work in the coffee shop in the basement of the building when the call went out for more guests.
After dropping off their stuff at a bag check, the newly invited guests cleared security and filed into the gym.

What’s Wrong With Those Americans?:

RealClearPolitics - Video - Bernard Goldberg: Is Far-Left Arrogance Hurting Obama?:
Media critic Bernard Goldberg explains why “arrogance on the far left” is damaging Democrats.
Bernie points out that Obama and the Democrats have been belittling those who don’t agree with them for so long that we are getting tired of it. They, our superiors in their minds, think we are having a “temper tantrum” as if we were children who didn’t know better. I’m tired of looking up Obama’s nose hairs and I hope to God the bastards lose power on November 2nd. We gotta get out and vote them out of power.

burning quran - Google News: 7,199 results…
Okay, so there’s a nut in Florida who claims he’s a pastor of a church with 50 members and they want to burn a Quran on 9/11. No one would have noticed this if not for one entity, the MSM. Who cares if a tiny group of nuts burns a book? It is the media who has blown this all out of proportion and is making an issue of it. It is the media who falsely reported the same thing at Gitmo that resulted in the deaths of 15 people. It is the media who do this for one thing only… MONEY. It gets ratings and ratings means money. The media doesn’t care if their actions result in the death or anybody, all they care about is money and fame. They are shouting FIRE in a crowded theater and they should be blamed for what happens. Every American solder, every Muslim death that stems from this is on the shoulders of the media. They are the scum of the earth and they should be held accountable for their irresponsible actions.

Researchers Discover Irresistible Dance Moves:
sciencehabit writes
“To find out if certain dance moves are more attractive to women than others, researchers recruited a bunch of college guys and used motion-capture to create avatars of them dancing. When women watched the avatars (2 videos included in story), the men they found most attractive were those who kept their heads and torsos moving without flailing their arms and legs. The researchers say dancing is thus an honest signal to women of the man’s strength and health, just as it is in crabs and hummingbirds, who also move in special ways to attract mates.”

Asteroids Flyby: 2010 RF12 & 2010 RX30:
Ernesto Guido writes
“Two small asteroids (2010 RF12 & 2010 RX30) will pass within the Moon’s distance of Earth today, September 08, 2010.” One is 6-14 meters and the other is 10-20, so even if they change course, don’t expect Bruce Willis to be called in.

How Many House Seats In Play?:
John
David Plouffe, President Obama’s 2008 campaign manager, says at least 70 House and 15 Senate races are in play this year:
“There are a lot of competitive races out there. There’s going to be at least 70 House races in play, about 15 competitive Senate races, a couple dozen tough gubernatorial races,” he said in a video to supporters of Organizing for America, the president’s political arm.
Plouffe painted a picture of a dire electoral landscape in which, if Democrats were to lose the majority of those races, their losses would be massive.
Let’s hope so.
It would be a mistake to get overconfident this early. Dems may be dumb to have followed Obama down this hole. But they are a cagey lot and I’m sure there’s a few tricks they have up their sleeves that we haven’t seen yet.

McDonald’s Hamburgers Don’t Age - GOOD Blog - GOOD:
Things that are made from organic material age and decay, especially when they stop being alive. A piece of home-baked bread, say, left on your kitchen counter, will get moldy relatively fast. Lord knows what some ground beef would smell like after a week. But the artist Sally Davies has been photographing one McDonald’s hamburger and fries every day for 137 days. They look basically exactly the same. …

The Fix - Harry Reid: “I had nothing to do with” bad economy:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, facing a tough re-election bid in one of the states hardest hit by the recession, said today that the economic downturn was not his fault.

Political stars born of Arizona law - Washington Times:
Despite being waylaid by the courts, Arizona’s immigration law is still growing as a powerful political force, shaping elections across the country and creating a new generation of campaign stars in and out of the state.
The law’s sponsor has become a sought-after kingmaker in Republican primaries, one of the chief legal advisers is running for statewide office in Kansas, and several Arizona sheriffs backing the law have earned substantial television airtime. Maybe the most obvious example is Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, who has used the law to take control of her race and all but guarantee she’ll win in November. …
When Obama decided to sue Arizona over their immigration law he highlighted his failure to secure the borders. Now Obama is suing Sheriff Arpaio who is doing the job Obama is failing to do and that is control illegal immigration at the border. This is having the effect of galvanizing his opponents against him and another nail in the coffin of his approval numbers. At one time I thought the dems might have some master plan to win in November but now I think they are just dumb and tone deaf to what the vast majority of Americans want.

Why the Right Fears Transforming America:
And why the Left seeks it.
The giveaway regarding presidential candidate Barack Obama’s plans for America was his repeated use of the words “fundamentally transform.”
Some conservatives instinctively reacted negatively — in fact, with horror — at the thought of fundamentally transforming America.
One unbridgeable divide between Left and Right is how each views alternatives to present-day America.
Those on the Left imagine an ideal society that has never existed, and therefore seek to “fundamentally transform” America. When liberals imagine an America fundamentally transformed, they envision it becoming a nearly utopian society in which there is no greed, no racism, no sexism, no inequality, no poverty, and ultimately no unhappiness.
Conservatives, on the other hand, look around at other societies and look at history and are certain that if America were fundamentally transformed, it would become just like those other societies. America would become a society of far less liberty, of ethically and morally inferior citizens, and of much more unhappiness. Moreover, cruelty would increase exponentially around the world. …
The problem for both the left and the right is that neither understands the other. This doesn’t stop both from trying to explain the other sides views. I know for a hard fact that descriptions of why people like me think the way we do is not understood, not even close, by people on the left. We, as people, as humans, can only see the world through our own eyes. We fail and fail miserably when we think we understand those who are not exactly like us. That holds true beyond political views, it applies to gender, race, religion and everything else. This article tries to do the impossible, tries to explain the left from the viewpoint of the right. It is doomed to fail yet we’ll read it and try to do the impossible, understand those who don’t agree with us.
A simple real life example, see if this is true for you:
The world would be a better place if everyone drove like me.
