Global Test

While Kerry may not actually go out and ask the French and Germans whether he can do a preemptive strike, he will ask his advisors if what he is about to do would be okay with the French and Germans. He will have some form of check list, a test as he said, that he will use before he makes a decision. He said, in other words, that the rest of the world will have more say than the US in his decision making process. For proof of this we know that he is against the Iraq war in large part because he claims that Bush did not get a large enough coalition before going into war. And who was against our going into war with Iraq? France and Germany were against it. Kerry makes it perfectly clear that Kerry would not do anything unless Kerry knew that other countries would approve of his actions. For those who support him because he is against the Iraq war, or so he says... sometimes... sometimes not... this may be comforting. But it is very troubling that in a time of crisis, Kerry would be paralyzed with inaction, fretting that the French wouldn't approve, while he nuanced our lives away.
