The Washington Monthly (Liberal viewpoint)
Taking things a little out of context as liberals also do I have the following from Kevin Drum, "You know what? I wasn't all that impressed" - "the energy level dropped" - "But I'm not sure he really got that across." - "weak defenses." About Cheney he said, "However, his repeated attacks on Kerry's consistency came through fairly well, and didn't get a very good rebuttal from Edwards."
"Bottom line: it seemed like a tie to me."
Not many other people saw it that way. I've been watching the dems on the talk shows and they are giving it the old college try at making it seem like Edwards did well but the left media is saying much the same as I am and that is that Cheney wiped up the floor with Edwards. Especially the bit about Edwards not showing up for work at the senate. I'd repeat it here but you'll be seeing it repeated a lot on TV as it was one of the defining moments of the debate.
Democrat Strategist Pat Caddell, "Cheney ran away with it." (Who also thought that Kerry won last week.)
In general the republicans seem very happy and the dems don't look so good.
