Quick Note4/19/1 Boy am I getting lazy. Flying J leaves town and I just sit back and goof off. Well, not really, I have been doing a lot of work on future projects that involve this web site and Preble's future. Naturally I'm not ready to talk about it now but I think you will enjoy it when you see it. However sunshine and no snow does inhibit my desire to work on the computer. The next big thing will be the Preble Town Board deciding what to do with the Knapp re-zoning. This is still a very hot issue for us, as it could dramatically change Preble and affect a large number of people. We are adamantly opposed to it and will go to court if necessary. It is ludicrous to turn the town upside down, cost dozens of people tens of thousands of dollars, just to enrich the Knapp family. It ain't gonna happen and the sooner the Knapp's realize it the better. Frankly, the more I look at this taxpayer rip off the more I see abuse just like we are seeing here. This looks like a typical government program that started off with a good idea that got corrupted. May be time to end it. The next update will be Monday 4/23/1 at the earliest. Frank Hogg 4/15/1 Ah weather we don't mind talking about. The entire weekend was perfect, warm, sunny, and cool. Joe Heath was even canoeing around the lake today, winter is finally over. I spent the entire weekend not doing anything on the computer or even thinking about Flying J... much. Got a lot of winter damage repairs done. This web site has gotten messier than my desk, garage, and workshop combined. I plan to spend the next several days/weeks getting it all organized... yeah right. I'm going to give it a shot anyway. The main page has gotten quite large over the last few months as I just kept adding new stuff on top of the old to the point that it is just too cluttered. I'll be putting all the Flying J stuff in its archive and keep it there for other communities to use if and when they are faced with a Flying J coming to town. Now that things have cooled down a bit I hope to make some improvements to the site also. I'm not going to say what improvements in case I change my mind or something happens that takes my time away. This is Preble after all. I'll have a report on both the Town Board and the Planning Board meeting in the near future. Nothing of real importance happened at either one, but some very funny and odd things occurred. I'll also have a discussion on our decision of how to handle the ZBA 7 to 5 change. I put up the article by Hart Seeley in the Post Standard about Flying J leaving, for those who didn't get a paper. |
