Prop #1- Change Legislator
Term from 2 yrs to 4 yrs
County Legislature wants
to TRIPLE their terms from 2 years to 4 years. IF you
let them. But wait, isn't changing their terms to four
years only doubling their terms? Not really. Consider
this. They complain that they have to campaign soon
after getting elected. Good enough for US congressmen
but too much work for our county legislators. Besides
what does campaigning mean anyway? First off they have
to be careful in the year before the election not to
do anything that would irritate you voters, like say,
raising your taxes 20 PERCENT which
they did last year. They hope you will forget that little
detail by the time election comes next year. AND they
are doing their tripling or their terms this year in
the hope you will forget about that by next year's election.
With that in mind a 4 year term gives them THREE
years to raise you taxes and other vile stuff
before they have to be good in the last year before
the election, thus TRIPLING their effective
terms.

Election Night Hint:
The news anchors will not announce their predictions
before the polls close starting at 9 PM. But they know
long before that. Here is my hint. Watch Dan Rather
at CBS. If he looks or acts happy then the democrats
are doing well. If he looks or acts sad then the republicans
are doing well.
