I may be naïve and see things from a simplistic
point of view, but what kind of town board votes, or even
proposes to vote, to change a law/ordinance in order to profit
well connected or related individuals? Why aren't you,
the town board, doing what you are supposed to do and represent
ALL of us? (Notice the emphasis on "ALL".)
I have no intention of getting caught in the crossfire of
egos and super egos. Specifically, between "Newcomers"
and "Old timers". My expectation is and will
remain that the town board represent me above and beyond their
personal need to see individuals, be they friends or relatives,
prosper monetarily.
Furthermore, do not think for a second that
you, the town board members, collectively or individually,
have the right to minimize a vote by me or my son, whether
that vote be by secret ballot or public indication, simply
because it is sympathetic to a position that you do not personally
agree with. Do not attempt to neuter my vote because
it is the same as that of the "lake people."
I would like to think that I have friends on
both sides of the issues confronting our town. But it
is no friend who shows contemptuous disrespect for my rights
as a citizen simply because it differs from his/hers.
