The Town Appeals Rumsey, amazing what Preble will do for a Knapp!

Here's the deal. Way back when this all started Paul and Maureen Knapp said that their appraiser Hudson told them they had to have their property rezoned commercial to get them the money. So the previous town board, wanting to help the Knapp's out, voted to rezone it. However, for a whole host of reasons, including the illegality of if, there was a lawsuit and the judge overturned the rezone. Now it gets interesting. While the Knapp's said Hudson told them it had to be rezoned what Hudson swore too in his affidavit did NOT support that! Hudson did NOT say it had to be rezoned. The land does NOT have to be rezoned to do what they say they want to do. Now why would anyone but a fool go ahead with this under those circumstances? But wait...it gets better. Now the current town board is actually appealing the ruling! Or at least they have started the process. If they didn't need to do what they did in the first place why would they want to do it again? The definition of a fool is someone who does the same thing over and over again expecting the results to change. If the judges ruling stands or is overturned the fact is that it will not make any difference whatsoever about getting the Knapps the money and appraisal they want. They get it either way so why in Gods name are they continuing with this. Either they are complete and utter fools or there is some other reason, some hidden agenda for doing this. As we have difficulty thinking these people are complete and utter fools we believe the latter, that something else is afoot and that something is the buffer zone. Why that? Flying J comes to mind. The buffer zone was the reason they left. BUT it could be something else that we don't know about. One thing for sure is that it isn't about the Knapp's appraisal.

They will vote next month to continue the appeal or drop it. It is a vote I for one will be fascinated to see. It will come down to one of the new board members voting for it along with Pitman and Edinger. Will it be Tom Fox or Linette Currie or both or neither? I'm on pins and needles waiting to see.
