The New York Times: G.O.P. Protesters Plan to Infiltrate Convention as Volunteers

It is accepted as an article of faith among protesters planning to demonstrate against the Republican National Convention this summer that agents seeking to undermine their efforts have infiltrated their ranks. But now the protesters are talking about infiltrating the convention to undermine the event itself.
WHAT? Democrats doing dirty tricks! Say it isn't so, they're so pure, they wouldn't sink to this Nixonian level... would they?

IT'S THE COVERUP

In politics it's always the cover-up that creates the problems for politicians and public officials. When they cover something up the public wonders why, and rightly so. In the case of nitrate levels in our drinking water our public officials are covering up the fact that nitrates come from ag. Sure they 'could' come from septic systems but that was shown not to be the case at the trailer park. Yet the officials still say they don't know where they come from. In this case I suggest you take a drive down 281 to the trailer park and stop and look around. All you can see are farm fields covered with manure. And if you pick the right day you might need a mask due to the stink. As you look around please note these facts. The land is flat. The land is all farmland. There is no other visible possible source of the nitrates. Okay, enough of that. For this discussion let's assume that you are an intelligent reader and you acknowledge the source of nitrates. What now? Well, it's been two years and nothing much has happened and I don't expect anything to happen anytime soon. If you care about it and your water tests high you should probably buy yourself a reverse osmosis water filter or drink bottled water. If you don't care then why are you reading this?

Just to give you an alternate view I've posted the emails I've gotten from Alex Avery. In short his contention is that nitrates are not a problem, are over hyped and based on bad science. Is he right? I don't know, I'm not a scientist. For me it's not a big issue, my water has zero nitrates and where I live I never smell the liquid manure stink. When I see people who are affected by this problem not doing a damn thing I wonder why I'm wasting so much of my time on it. But I guess I have a civic duty to continue to report on it and I will. However, if you are concerned about this and you ain't doing anything about it thinking someone else will you better get off your lazy butt and get busy. The only time the politicians and bureaucrats will do anything about anything is when a whole lot of people call them up and bitch. They're waiting for all this to die down so they can go back to doing nothing, which they are very good at, as you well know. And if you don't care enough to say anything then nothing will happen and that is what I predict will be the case. The politicians will procrastinate, you people will tire of all this and nothing will happen. Maybe you should all get together and make a group purchase of reverse osmosis water filters and gas masks. And just for good measure throw in some white flags too.

A note about Alex Avery: I searched the web using Google for others with his views and found little to support him. Fact is that until the EPA changes the safe level from 10PPM that will be the law.

The Village Voice: John Kerry Must Go by James Ridgeway

If things proceed as they are, the dim-bulb Dem leaders are going to be very sorry they screwed Howard Dean.
I was pretty sure The Village Voice was a liberal paper until I saw this. But I went back and looked at some of their other stuff and, sure enough, it's still liberal. So this article gets a, "Well, I'll be d...." from me.

Who'd a thunk it.

Pampers, you know, the things that are used to clean babies butts, those things. They're great, let me say that again... GREAT for cleaning greasy grimy hands. I just came in from working on my tractor in the garage and used Pampers to clean my hands and I'm amazed how good they worked. I'll let you wonder why I had the Pampers in the first place or why I would even think of trying them on my dirty hands. But, they work.
